Single BEST Self-Defense Product on the Street or at Home-Women or Men.

Single BEST Self-Defense
Hi folks I'm Bob Schrupp physical therapist, Brad Heineck physical therapist, together we are the most famous physical therapists on the internet, in our opinion of course Bob. Single best self-defense weapon on the street or home, we're gonna give you the number one option that you should do if you're trying to protect yourself Man or woman and This is something that when my daughter went to college I. Investigated cuz I wanted the best thing that she could have and this is it so we're gonna get into it But we're gonna talk about how this works, yeah, we're gonna get into the different options You know cuz there are other options besides the one we're gonna show today But we're gonna tell you why We still think this is the best one And I think it's very clear, but Bob before we go any further if you are new to our channel Please take a second to subscribe to us. We promise we won't hurt you.

We provide videos on how to stay healthy, fit, pain-free and safe, and we also upload every day There's a subscription button here or here Also go over to Facebook and like us because Brad and I as children were not liked and therefore We are trying to turn things around Alright so first Brad Why don't you give your background? So we these people know that you're qualified to talk about this subject. Right as you know we are physical therapists We have had this channel for years But on occasion a topic like this comes up in the news or something where I've had 17 years studying the martial arts and when I got to my second degree test, he's a second degree black belt, I emphasized my studies into self-defense, and I actually organized and taught professionals Classes for people, typically women actually it was all women and I did groups and I did free ones as well But for a number of years, I did that so in order to be effective I studied on this topic from the professionals from actually I got a lot of information from police officers One from Milwaukee where I got a lot of information from, which I'm going into in the next video and one from Chicago where they really get into a lot of this Oh, it's a big issue, right so I feel confident with this information I do want to mention your book too Brad, now this has nothing to do with self-defense. This is just more for stretching and preparing Staying injury-free. Well just read the title it's exactly what it is "Martial Arts Manual for Stretching, Strengthening, and Treatment of Common Injuries" so it's training, how to be a good marshal artist It's great for instructors.

Yeah, it's down below Go ahead and get it if you're into that field so okay, so what is the best self-defense? I'm gonna have to ask you Brad cuz I have no idea Well the first thing you know people'll say to take some martial arts, you know learn to defend yourself learn how to punch kick What are the like the most vulnerable sites - you're gonna strike? Well, those are all good things, but I can tell you from 17 years you're not going to learn it in a 10 minute video, it will take years of a lot of practice repetition repetition and then anybody, they'll tell you if you get in a conflict, chances are you're going to get hurt Yeah, so you want to avoid the conflict, so hand to hand especially if you're a smaller person or maybe a little more elderly There's so many factors, so the next thing other people are saying I'll get a nine-millimeter pistol well You know that's true. It's gonna be a good self-defense tool You know and in a lot of states in the United States They are legal you can conceal carry etc, but you really know how to handle them, You just don't learn how to use it and shoot it at the range once and learn, you have to go repeatedly at least once a month and feel very comfortable With that, well there are so many issues. I mean are you even comfortable in shooting somebody Do you want a gun around your house with children, I mean, the list goes on and on. So that one's probably not the best, the next one is mace or pepper spray And I'm thinking you know that's not a bad idea And that's what I had gotten for my daughters, some pepper spray The problem that could be with that is number one you have to be accurate with it And there's a certain distance that it's no longer accurate, if it's dark It's kind of hard to see where you're spraying So that brings us on to what what I got for my daughter after studying this and that is A simple tool like a flashlight, but it's not just any flashlight.

You need to get a tactical they're called a tactical flashlight In the military is where these originally started as my understanding, and they're very bright You need to have a lanyard on it, so if you drop it. You don't lose it That's gonna go on your wrist, got to be a good lanyard. Well, actually the name of this one is Brad, I'm gonna They have a whole bunch of them, there's a lot of them. This is the M1X Striker and we'll put a link down below so you can see it I don't remember how much it was to be honest with you.

Yeah. Yeah, I think they're between 50 and 70 dollars depending on where you get it It's not a cheap buy, but they're well-built, they're sealed, they got o ring seals, if you're in the water They're gonna hold up well to that atmosphere and they're all aluminum. They're built well that will just The button is on the back here You okay, Lonnie? Yeah I think I've got this set on the brightest setting, now these the distance you can be quite a ways away and if you get it in their eyes They're gonna see white lights now with this what I did is I took a pair of sunglasses And I shined it up against the wall, and I looked at it And it was too bright Okay, and just today I took my sunglasses on and I very quickly went on and off with it into my eyes It doesn't hurt painful, but it hurts your eyes And I kept seeing these white lights a couple minutes afterwards, so the idea is someone's coming up upon you And you flash them and probably stay flashing and he's gonna be blinded or she's gonna be blinded. You know if you cannot see, you're in a pretty good position to get out of there, okay, I wonder if it would blind a dog? No, seriously.

If a dog was coming at you Maybe it's a stupid thing to say, no it's not, but the one thing that's really critical First of all you have to know how to use it. It's got different settings And you want to set it so it's at the brightest So you have to be comfortable with it, and I'm gonna talk about how to hold it, and how to turn it on and whatnot But you need to be confident with it and confident in yourself Sure, so you know and I'm talking to people if you're raising children They're at that age where you want them to know how to defend themselves, you have to teach them That nobody has the right to touch them Which, everyone doesn't know that, particularly people in power, you know a teacher, You know a politician, a priest. Yeah, you have to know that nobody has the right to touch you and you have the right, under any circumstance You have the right to stop it with as much force is necessary to stop it. Okay.

That's really critical to teach that to your children I think the other thing Brad which we mentioned in another video about not getting groped is about posture and that if you're walking along like you know like this mozzie wowsy the world hates me That's what I I saw. I was reading one article where a criminal was saying We call that the Vic walk, victim walk and we know that's someone we're gonna target, right easy prey You want to have confidence and walk Like you know where you're going, you have to have you have your head up, be aware You're not just looking at one spot or looking at the tall buildings if you're in the big city But you're looking around, you're aware of your surroundings and you look like you know where you're going and you do, because you don't want to look like a tourist which is also somebody's that's gonna be a victim, the other thing about confidence with your children This is one of the things I did with my daughter. Lonnie you got to focus on this, this is kind of cool I got her for this for Christmas, which wasn't a big deal for Christmas present in her mind But can you can see a little kitty looking into the mirror and in the mirror There's actually a tiger, so what does it say? What matters most is how you see yourself So every day, this is right at her mirror where she combed her hair, it was there for Seven years so every day she looked at this whether or not she knew she was reading it or not You know if you look at the psychology Hopefully that's a little message, and I think when she played basketball on defense She was pretty aggressive, so I don't know if that was coming out but in a self defense situation This has to instinctively come in, that you're confident yourself. You know if you got a fly shot You can put it in someone's eyes and take care of business Brad the other point, are you gonna point out these sharp edges? Yeah, exactly, there's more to the light than just a light right, so now We're gonna get into you have confidence.

You have to know how to use it Walking like you know where you're going, posture How you present yourself, being aware and then with this you have it like this now my daughter when she has hers she has it in her backpack and She keeps it in her bag when she's with the group. If she's by herself she pulls it out She puts it on her wrist, and then you hold it like this You don't want to advertise that you've got a tactical flashlight, you hold it like this It's out of the way. It's ready to be used. There is a thumb button here, okay, and now this one I don't want to go through the details because each light's a little bit different but on this one I push it on once and it's on the brightest setting, if you want to use it to change a tire, you got a flat tire you don't want it that bright.

They're gonna blind your eyes You can push it once, there's a button on the side that'll change, that's not too bad as a lighting in there and I can go brighter and brighter, and then it go back down, and it has a strobe too, right yep, and that's a nice thing about this is it's got a strobe, you're gonna blind Lonnie here! But that's a half a click so you have to get comfortable with how to use your light, so you could practice with it The next thing is you have the lanyard on, it's in this position. Where do you keep your hands when you're walking with it? Here. You don't keep it down here because if someone's out in front of you You got to go from here to here. It's a lot of times.

If you come up on somebody I mean you can walk like this until you come up on somebody, right or if you're concerned, if you're an area you gotta use your sixth sense, if something doesn't seem right about that person or the area you're in this position you want to be able to protect yourself you want to have the light ready to go on and point The other thing is if someone strikes you, you can protect your head, Okay, the other thing is if you look at and I gotta go close with this Lonnie This makes this a tactical flashlight. There is edges on the front of this. You're probably too close Brad Good, okay, so you see these edges? Okay? There's five of them They're not razor sharp, but they're adequate and they're very strong The hand is like this you're ready to turn it on and it gives you a good position to strike And you're gonna strike to a boney surface particularly the face around the eyes or to the eyes You don't mess around and think oh I'm gonna strike someone In the chest or the arm in a muscular area cause it's not gonna hurt It's not gonna do anything it must strike to the eyes or to the that's all boney around here And that is gonna really cause some blood flow to come out, which is gonna get into the person's eyes Gives you a chance to get away between being blinded and painful When I taught my classes I enforced, this is an imminent danger you are in danger You have the right to protect yourself and all these tactics sound really nasty But that's what it takes, and you don't mess around. What I like about it Brad Is let's say someone's come upon you and you make somewhat of a mistake He really wasn't even attacking you just flash them.

I mean it's not like you maced them, right You know what I mean? Sure Exactly, so it's kind of a nice option in that regard that it doesn't, the other thing I do want to mention in the event that there is a problem and someone's there You're flashing them, and you're running, you're not being quiet You have to use your self-defense of being vocal People can hear if you're in a room or you're in a quiet area in an alley or whatever it could be There are people that can hear you in windows and whatnot and you're gonna Yell very loud and the word you're going to use to get people's attention is I can't say it here loud because we've got In this facility, is fire, when people hear the word fire They want to find out what's going on, if they just hear you're screaming or screaming help They don't know if they want to get involved, some people are not gonna want to get involved because they don't want to get hurt. They don't want to get involved You know that type of thing, but when they hear fire, they're like is that gonna affect me? So I'm gonna look out and then the more people that come out obviously the more the criminal is not gonna wanna be, and the criminal realizes that too and they don't want crowds, right exactly, they want to have their way with the situation, in the way they want it They wanna be alone, exactly so use the light, use your voice, and use the tactics we just talked about. Now we've got another video coming up in about a week or so and that's gonna tell you how to get in a parking lot or If you're in a house how there's a real simple technique to keep yourself safe, this helps as well And I call it the friendly wall technique, so learn about that coming up, nice very good. Thanks Brad This is a very valuable video.

Great, thank you, be safe. You.

SAVE vs. SPLURGE SKIN & HAIR CARE EDITIONBeauty EssentialsJASMINA BHARWANI

SAVE vs. SPLURGE SKIN & HAIR CARE EDITIONBeauty EssentialsJASMINA BHARWANI
Hello everyone and welcome to my channel
thank you so much for tuning in today I. Have for you another save versus splurge
video you guys really seem to enjoy the first one I did I did one that was all
kind of make up I will link that on the screen now if you haven't watched it and
I know you guys requested for me to do one on skincare and on fashion the
fashion one is coming up soon but this one is this skincare version I've also
included in here body care and hair care just to kind of Club it all in one
section and I'm going to go through all the categories like I did in in the last
one and I'm going to tell you whether I. Think it's worth spending or saving and
what my favorite products are whatever the category is so without further ado
let's get straight into this video because there's a lot to get through but
before that don't forget to hit the subscribe button I upload twice a week
and I would love to have you back on the channel and also don't forget to hit the
little bell right next to the subscribe button so that you get a notification
every time I upload a new video ok so we're gonna start everything off
with a cleanser I'm gonna try and go in like this steps I would use a things and
the first one like I said is cleanser and I have here my favorite cleanser
which I've been using for a long time and it's the LA roche-posay tellurian
cleanser so I definitely think this is a safe product I think that's very good
kind of I was a premium sort of drugstore rangers like the rush today
and like a van which have got very very good quality skincare and actually you
could probably get away with getting everything from that range and I think
you can get really good quality stuff but it's not kind of super excessively
priced it's very good quality good for sensitive skin very respectful with like
skin and just good ingredients in there so I think it's definitely a product you
can save on I know there's some amazing kind of Sarah Chapman type cleanses
cleansing bombs that are amazing but I. Have to say this one for me works
wonders I use it all over to clean my face I use it even on eyes and
all over my face I featured this on my skincare routine which I will link on
the screen now if you haven't watched it but basically I think it's great it gets
rid of my makeup it comes on really easily it doesn't irritate my skin it
does make it oily it doesn't make me break out and you get pretty good amount
of product this is the demo cleanser and like I said you can use it on your eyes
as well and I work quite a lot of my makeup as you guys probably can see and
it gets rid of it really well you just kind of need to massage it in and then
you just kind of drag it out with a cotton bud and it just comes off really
really easily so I think this one's a great product and definitely want you
can save on moving on to the next one which is also a cleanser is this gel
cleanser and I think this one is again a safe product because this one is also
from the wash pers a like I said I think a lot of products from the wash but they
are really really good and the ones from a van are kind of this kind of this very
similar range there's sort of a little bit of premium drugstore but it's still
a drugstore product so I would still consider it a safe product this one is a
gel mousse cleanser and it doesn't have any soap it's really good for sensitive
skin especially for weally skin I used to break up so much and so ever since I
started using this it's definitely made a huge difference and it's made a huge
difference to my blackheads I mean the difference is stunning I mean I've
gotten rid of most of them I still have a little bit but I think it's a very
very good product really good on the skin and you get a whole lot for the
price moving now on to toner I don't use all that much toner but I think this one
is again definitely a safe product I.

Think you get some really good ones in
the market in the drugstore this one is the visibly clear blackhead eliminating
toner which I use occasion I don't use it every night and then I have one
that's like a caramel water and that's the Spanish brand but I think that again
would be a kind of similar equivalent to the drugstore this one's my Neutrogena I
think need to you know do some really good ones you can also get some by
L'Oreal which are really good revlon do some really good ones as well and
definitely i think it's a safe product i don't think there's a need to spend a
whole lot of money on a toner you basically all you wanted to do is just
kind of close your pores i would say go for like a good skincare brand though
like don't go for anything like you know that could be a dupe or a fake because
you're going to be applying it on your skin but something that is from a good
and you could definitely get away with something from the drugstore moving now
on to kind of creams and treatments and stuff like that my first product is a
serum and you can obviously use serums for different you know things though
issues that you have with your skin I'm going to talk about the ones that I've
used but I think this one is definitely a spend product I think treatment
products that are supposed to do something really specific to your skin I
would say are worth investing a little bit more money on them just because
sometimes the ones that are kind of high-end can deliver more can have
better results and I think because it's stuff that you're gonna be using you
know it's gonna be one item and it's something so specific for a specific
need I think it's worth spending a little bit extra money my recommendation
if you have a puffy kind of face type like mine which kind of retains a lot of
liquid is this Clarins one it's obviously worked a dream on my face it's
basically meant to kind of drain all the liquid retention that you have on your
face and it works so well and I think a drugstore product wouldn't have the same
effect I've also used the advanced night repair serum by Estee Lauder and I have
to say it's worked so well on my skin it's a great kind of hydrating serum
that really brings a lot of glow to your face and like I said because it's a
specific treatment that it's kind of for glow or for blemishes or for whatever it
is that you're using it I think it's definitely worth a little bit of extra
money so for me this would be a spent product staying on the topical kind of
treatment products I'm moving now more into kind of oils and creams and again
for me this is a splurge product I have the Clarins face oil for example which I
use as a nighttime moisturizer and I use this because I have really dehydrated
skin especially around here but then I. Have like a lot of blemishes down the
center of my face and I have to say this product has made a huge difference I
tried loads of products from the drugstore and nothing really worked on
my skin but this oil honestly works wonders so I think this one is
definitely a splurge product like I say this oil there can be other kind of
treatment creams that you use whether you're using something that's for your
wrinkles or whether you're using something because you want to have less
oil on your face whatever it is the treatment product you're using as a
moisturizer as a nighttime product that you really want to work on your skin
especially the night one because you wanted to work on your
skin all night I would say definitely worth spending because it's gonna be on
your face all night you want something that's gonna really work on whatever it
is that your problem is and I think it's definitely worth the extra money
moving now on to spot treatments is something you would use for something
really specific that it's not like an overall kind of moisturizer or serum or
anything something then you would use either for blemishes or whether you've
got kind of pigmentation on your skin using something as a spot treatment I
would say again these ones are definitely worth splashing on I for
example have a lot of problem with breakouts like I said and I use at this
product from Dermalogica which is the overnight clearing gel this is meant to
be to kind of apply it directly onto your spots and it kind of dries them up
I have to say this one works wonders if you have acne prone skin it's made such
a huge difference to my skin and I have tried at the one from the ordinary the
salicylic acid and that's a much more affordable option and I have to say it
was good but nothing like this one I. Think Dermalogica is like a mid-range
brand it's also not kind of super premium like a Christian Dior but at the
same time it's a really really good quality product and you are paying for
the kind of time and effort these brands put into kind of coming up with these
treatments so again because it's something very specific I would say it's
worth the extra money moving now on to a daytime moisturizer
and I think this one is kind of a product I'm on the fence about I have to
say you can get really good products in the drugstore and because this is just
gonna be something you're gonna be applying during the day it's not kind of
gonna do so much your skin it's not such a specific treatment you're gonna have
it on are you gonna put makeup and stuff on top I would say as long as you're
using something that is good for your skin time you can definitely save but I
also think that some of the high-end ones like the Armani primer one or the
Charlotte Tilbury magic cream do work really well on your face and I have
noticed a difference compared to the drugstores so for me I'm on the fence
about this one I would say if you want an effect that's absolutely amazing then
I would definitely splurge but if you don't mind so much or you have kind of a
skin that's kind of naturally just hydrated and wonderful on its own and it
doesn't need much treatment and you can definitely save but I'm siding more
towards the splurge category than the SAV category because again it's a
product you're applying to onto your skin you're gonna have it on
for a long time makeup is gonna sit on top of it and like using the same kind
of theory I had with makeup anything that affects the blend ability or the
way you'll make up sets on your skin is important for it to be good quality so I
would say probably splurge although yeah maybe you can save if
you're very very young and you've got kind of perfect skin anyways the makeup
wipes I would say definitely a safe category for me I use these ones from
Johnsons they're the baby wipes and I. Just use these to kind of double cleanse
my face but you can obviously use cleansing wipes I think the Johnson's
ones are really good the Neutrogena ones are also really good so you can
definitely get really good products from the drugstore that are not too
aggressive that are good with your skin and that actually remove your makeup I
would also say though that I wouldn't recommend cleansing works as the only
method of cleansing your face if you're wearing makeup I would say it's good for
a double cleanse or it's good to kind of clean around the areas of your face
where you can't get to with the cleanser but I would say it's not great to be
just cleaning your face with this moving now on to mask treatments I would say on
this one again I would sign more towards the splurge category but I think there
are also some really good ones in the drugstore so I'm in between I'm sorry
I'm not being that clear with this video but I think the skincare it's not as
clear-cut for me as it is with makeup there are some really great options like
the ones from a spa they are kind of again a little bit of like a little
premium skincare within the drugstore and I think their masks are absolutely
wonderful I've tried their vitamin C one it's
really good I've tried this one which is their anti-wrinkle Mars I've tried their
eye patches and they're honestly all amazing it's a Korean skincare brand and
I have to say their masks work so so well and I don't really notice that much
difference compared to like high-end ones however also from the drugstore a
really good option as this one for example from Sephora which is the bubble
mask detoxifying and they also have one that's called like the plumping mask I
will be putting all these products on the screen and linking them down below
and those honestly work so so well on my skin I honestly noticed such a huge
difference when I use them they're literally like instant effect products
this one which is the oxygenating mask literally makes the skin glow like my
skin can go quite dull and this one just brings a wonderful glow
into my face literally instantly as soon as I use it and the plumping mask it's
an overnight rating mask and it honestly hydrates my skin so much it leaves its
super plump and it actually has a lot of hyaluronic acid so it literally feels
like my skin is kind of lifted as if I.

Had like literally fillers put in so I
do think there are some great products in the drugstore however I also think
there are some great products from like more premium brands like Dermalogica
I've been using this gentle cream exfoliant for years and I haven't found
an exfoliant that is as good as this one this one is so amazing to kind of leave
your skin super smooth I use this always before applying any other masks on top
it's a chemical exfoliant you leave it on for about 15 minutes and then just
literally wash it off your face and I. Have to say it leaves your skin are so
good it helps to kind of keep like key blackheads and blemishes a bay and it's
such a good mask actually it's just so good and I think it's worth a little bit
of extra money so I would say um like I. Said I've got heading more towards
splurge but if you're gonna go and say there are some great products but I
would say choose the kind of premium ranges from the drugstore as opposed to
kind of the really kind of basic ranges too are the masks but I wanted to
mention as well they're worth splurging on is the satin acne mask this one again
it's a very specific treatment for people who are acne prone I think this
one works so so well and I haven't found anything similar in the drugstore and
also the Charlotte Tilbury skin clay goddess mask which is amazing it just it
hydrates and it clears your skin at the same time it's nothing like any other
clay mask I've tried before I know Lauri I have come up with like a huge range of
clay masks and they're good but there's nothing like this one this one honestly
is so special because it doesn't dehydrate your skin but at the same time
it kind of clears out your pores and it's just such a specific kind of
combination that I haven't been able to find elsewhere that I think it's worth
the extra money moving now on to body care I think the
kind of body soap definitely I would say is a safe product I have used these ones
from the sanctuary and actually I think the sanctuary is such an underrated
brand they have some really really good stuff and I think of their body soap is
so so good and they have some really good scrubs as well this one is the
white lily and damask rose and it smells so wonderful the packaging is so
beautiful it looks so nice on the bathtub and yeah they're really good
really moisturizing and they don't kind of dry out your skin or anything it
leaves them looking really beautiful really moisturize and at the same time
it smells for so so nice so I think I'm not too fussy to be honest with like
soaps and stuff like that as long as it doesn't dehydrate my skin I think
there's some really good options and some really affordable options on the
drugstore moving on to body scrubs and I think
this one again is a safe category I love this one from the body shop this one is
again a little bit like premium drugstore but I wouldn't call this
high-end it's the spot of the world mediterranean
sea salt scrub and it's the most amazing scrub i've tried ever it is so
nourishing but at the same time it really exfoliates your skin it feels so
lovely it's quite thick so it's really easy to kind of massage in the sanctuary
also do some really really good ones so I definitely think they're worth like
saving money on I have tried to save from flurry ones and I have to say I
didn't like those at all but I think sanctuary and the body shop do some
really really good ones and the smell is incredible they're good they exfoliate
your skin and again it's nothing stay specific so as long as it kind of
doesn't do hydrate your skin and it does the job I don't think you need to kind
of spend at loads and loads of money on it
moving on to body moisturiser and I. Think this one again is a safe product I
think the dark range is amazing like their body soaps they're also really
really good I forgot to mention them earlier this one is the one I use which
is the summer revive dermis spa one which is meant to be like a turning one
to be honest it's sort of a buildable tan but I don't mean you know just a lot
of difference on my skin but I have to say it does really really hydrate my
skin and it sinks them super quickly it absorbs super nicely it smells really
good it doesn't look kind of streaky or anything even though it's supposed to be
a tanning cream and yeah it just leaves my skin really really nourished and
really hydrated and I don't feel the need to spend on a more expensive one
because I don't really see the difference on my body moving on to hair
care I think this one is definitely a bit more of a spend category on the
whole I find that you don't have to go and you've spend crazy amounts of money
on it like you don't have to buy stuff from to go but I also feel that if you
buy a kind of complete drugstore stuff it does make a difference
and because my hair is colored and I.

Feel like it needs that extra kind of
bit of TLC so for shampoo I would definitely say spend I love this joy
coat for example shampoo and I also have a specific condition on my scalp which
makes it really flaky so I use a deep cleansing shampoo which is like
antibacterial shampoo as well and again it's like a pharmacy product so it is a
little bit more pricey but I think it's worth spending on a really good shampoo
because you know your hair especially if you color it your mistreating it a lot
and it does need that extra little bit of care and I find that the drugstore
just doesn't do enough for hair treatment perhaps I would say again a
spend category for me this product for example just for split ends is from
Schwarzkopf it's not super expensive but it is a little bit more pricey than the
drugstore but I have to say it's made such a huge difference on my hair it
does really nourish it and it leaves it so so supple and I have noticed a huge
difference in terms of the amounts of split ends I have another treatment
product is olaplex which is amazing on your hair and it does really really make
a difference especially if you have a colored hair it's a rebonding treatment
and i have to say it's worth the extra little bit of money and when it comes to
how masks I love this one file living proof it's a restore hair mask and it's
great for colored hair it really kind of nourishes your hair without weighing it
down and I have to say the Kerastase ones are
also amazing and they are a little bit more expensive but definitely worth the
money because like I said it's a very specific treatment product it's the same
as with your facial skin care something that's so specific for something that's
kind of a particular need I think spending a little bit of extra money is
worth it because it's worth paying for that extra research that that brand is
done and you know that's what you're paying for really so that's over from
you guys thank you so much for watching I hope you enjoyed this video please do
let me know in the comments below what you thought was worth splurging on all
saving on and do let me know if there's any recommendations out there cuz I love
to hear from you guys thank you so much for watching and I will see you in my
next one bye guys.

Ribbond compared to other dental fiber reinforcement materials

Ribbond compared to
Since its introduction in 1992, Ribbond's
success and acceptance by thousands of dental professionals worldwide has made it the industry
standard for dental fiber reinforcement. Ribbond remains the preferred fiber reinforcement
of independent dental evaluators. Ribbond is the top choice of Reality evaluators, Clinical
Research Associates and also consistently receives the Dentaltown, "Townie Choice" award
as well. Reality evaluators list Ribbond as their preferred
reinforcement fiber and reference Ribbonds proven and documented history of success stating,
Ribbond has the most research and the longest track record in this category.

Its performance
has been very good. Clinical Research Associates states a clear
preference for Ribbond stating that, the importance of ease of use far outweighs cost,
and Ribbond reinforcement fiber has best ease of use. The most obvious difference between Ribbond
and other fiber reinforcements is its superior manageability. Ribbond is woven using a patented leno weave,
which uniquely allows Ribbond to be both open for easy wetting but also prevents Ribbond
from unraveling during placement.

You can see how Ribbond has no memory and
will not rebound when bent. Ribbonds superior manageability can easily
be seen when making a periodontal splint. Here you can see how Ribbond stays in position
and does not rebound out of the contacts and easily follows the arch and contours of the
teeth. You can also see how this differs from other
fiber materials.

Loosely braided materials, like Kerrs Connect,
unravel during use. When making a periodontal splint with the
loosely braided Connect fibers you can see how the material spreads apart, doubling in
width and resulting in an unnecessarily bulky and uncomfortable prosthesis for your patient. Glass fibers are stiff and have a lot of memory. It is difficult to construct a periodontal
splint using glass fibers you can see how the fibers rebound when trying to adapt them
into the contacts, and they do not stay in position.

This presentation clearly shows that Ribbond
has the best ease of use, but dont take our word for it, make your own comparison.
Please call or email us and we can send a manageability sample for your evaluation.
Please note that these samples will not be not clinically useable as they will not be
cold-gas plasma treated and will not bond to dental resins. If the other manufacturers
would send a similar sample the difference will be readily apparent. Manageability not only effects the clinician's
ease of use and patient's comfort, but perhaps more importantly, manageability directly relates
to long-term clinical success. Like a porcelain veneer or an orthodontic bracket, the thinner
the bond line is the better the laminate effect will be.

In the case of fiber reinforcements, strength
is achieved via design, layering the fibers against the teeth makes a laminate structure.
The closer the fibers are placed against the tooth surfaces, the thinner the bond line
will be and therefore better the laminate effect will be. When a carpenter glues two pieces of wood
together, he uses a clamp to minimize the thickness of the glue between the two pieces
of wood. Minimizing the thickness of glue reduces the chance of cohesive failure of
the layer of glue. This same phenomenon explains why we want thin bond lines in dentistry.

The same ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene
Spectra fibers used to make Ribbond are also used to make bullet proof vests and light
weight armor protection for military aircraft. Glass fibers are not used for similar industrial
applications because they are brittle and are not fracture tough. Unlike glass fibers, the strength qualities
of the bullet proof Ribbond fibers are not compromised when bent. Glass fiber reinforcements
behave in a way similar to a pane of glass.

Glass is vulnerable to weakening due to stress
concentrations. When cutting a pane of glass, for example, the glass is cut by first scoring
its surface. The glass then easily breaks at this scratch. The bending of the the glass fibers during
the manufacturing process for woven glass fiber reinforcements creates stress concentrations
in the glass fibers.

Under magnification you can see that some of the fibers are actually
broken during this manufacturing process. Because weaving glass fibers compromises its
strength qualities, some manufacturers have chosen to use unidirectional configurations.
These configurations are effective in reinforcing forces that are parallel to the direction
of the fibers, but they are not effective in reinforcing multidirectional forces. This
phenomenon can be illustrated with mono-filament strapping tape. Like a unidirectional fiber
reinforcement, the mono filament strapping tape offers resistance when forces are applied
parallel to the direction of the fibers, but you can see how it easily tears when the forces
are applied in a direction perpendicular to the fibers.

Multidirectional forces are the norm in dentistry
and not the exception. Ribbonds lock-stitch leno weave offers multidirectional reinforcement.
In effect, each nodal intersection in the weave acts as a tiny knot that prevents crack
propagation within the resin matrix between the threads. Loosely woven or braided fibers also lack
mechanical interlocking of one thread to the next and like the unidirectional materials
will be susceptible to crack propagation within the resin matrix. Some marketers have tried to use simple in
vitro flexural strength tests to suggest clinical success, but these tests are meaningless without
an understanding of how strength qualities relate to clinical performance.

What we call
strength is really a combination of many qualities such as tensile strength, flexural strength,
flexural modulus and fracture toughness. A. Material might be very strong in one characteristic
but could be very weak in another. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link
and when trying to evaluate the strength of a material it is probably more relevant to
test for the weakest characteristic rather than its strongest feature.

For example, a unidirectional fiber material
has a high flexural strength in regard to forces that are applied parallel to the direction
of the fibers. However, the mode of failure is more likely to be due to multidirectional
forces that are applied perpendicular to the direction of the fibers. In other words, maybe
a strength test that applies a load perpendicular to the direction of the unidirectional fibers
might be more relevant for trying to evaluate clinical success. Flexural strength and flexural modulus are
measures of stiffness, and it is true that glass fibers are stiffer than polyethylene
fibers.

However, any first year student in structural engineering will tell you that
it is easier to design a structure for stiffness using non-stiff materials than it is to design
a structure for fracture toughness using non-fracture tough materials. Stiffness is achieved via
design by the fibers being placed to make a laminate structure. Ribbonds superior
manageability allows for the most accurate placement of any fiber reinforcement. Accurate
and close placement against the surfaces of the teeth minimizes the bond line and maximizes
the laminate effect.

In the case of fiber reinforcements the two
most relevant questions would probably be; how fracture tough is the material and how
manageable is it? We would argue that Ribbond is both the most fracture tough material available
to dentistry and that its ease of use allows for the most effective laminate designs. There is no better test than the test of time
and Ribbond leads the field in its independently documented history of success. Such research
includes an independent 42 to 84-month recall study of Ribbond periodontal splints by Dr.
Howard Strassler at the Univ. Of Maryland, which showed zero fracture failures in the
eleven patients that were followed during the study.

We know of no equivalent independent
recall studies by other manufacturers. Ribbonds fibers are the standard in biocompatibility.
The same polyethylene material used to make Ribbond is used in solid form to make liners
for artificial hip and knee joints. Glass fibers are generally not considered biocompatible
in industry, which is why workers use respirators when installing fiberglass insulation. Some marketers of glass fiber reinforcements
state that you can polish glass fibers and that Ribbond cannot be polished.

This is partially
true. Since Ribbonds fibers are so tough, they cannot be cut to the same level as the
composite with a burr and will therefore feel - fuzzy - if polished. Being brittle, the glass fibers can be cut
with a burr to the same level as the resin and will initially feel smooth. However, as
the resin wears away, over time the glass fibers will not wear at the same rate.

This
will result in sharp protruding fibers that will cause irritation to the soft tissue.
Thus, in the long term, neither glass fibers or polyethylene fibers should be polished. Ribbond has an indefinite shelf life. This
minimizes waste since there is no expiration date and the Ribbond does not need to be refrigerated
for storage. Ribbond leads the field in fiber reinforcements
in both innovation and quality.

If you have any questions, please contact us and we will
be happy to assist you..

The beauty of a womans hair is something
that always concerns her. There are many different fashions and hairstyles,
and too often an abundance of chemicals are present in hair products used by women. These chemicals damage to the tips of the
hair. Because of this, its best to use natural
recipes to moisturize the hair and also to straighten the tips.

There are several natural hair straightening
options that use simple, non-stringent ingredients to maintain healthy hair. Lets learn how to make your hair smooth
and straight with natural ingredients that, in addition to the straightening effect, will
also help maintain healthy, hydrated hair. Here's how to make hair straight with simple
ingredients and recipes: 1. Egg and olive oil mask Fold 2 eggs into 1 tablespoon of olive oil,
making a smooth mixture.

Apply the mixture to the hair and leave it
for one hour, or until the product dries. Then rinse. Apply the product twice a week to have a natural
straightening effect. 2.

Banana and milk mask Mix two ripe bananas and half a glass of milk
until it forms a creamy mixture. To start the natural straightening treatment,
apply the cream to wet hair and leave it for 30 minutes before rinsing. Repeat the process 3 times a week. 3.

Coconut and cornstarch mask Beat fresh coconut with 1 tablespoon of oats
and a half cup of milk in a blender until smooth. Strain to remove the remaining coconut and
oatmeal pieces. Then boil the mixture with 1 tablespoon of
cornstarch diluted in water. When the mixture reaches a creamy consistency,
remove from the heat and let stand.

To make the natural straightener, apply the
cream to the hair and cover your head with a cap, leaving the mixture for 25 minutes. Rinse normally at the end of the application. 4. Yogurt and egg mask Beat one egg white evenly, add half a cup
of yogurt and a quarter cup of mayonnaise.

Apply the mixture to your wet hair and cover
leaving it for 30 minutes. Finally, rinse with cold water. 5. Beer To make a natural straightener with beer,
simply boil a can of beer over medium heat until the alcohol is eliminated from the liquid.

Let it cool and place the solution in a shampoo
of your choice and apply it to the hair. These natural straightening recipes usually
give excellent results, as long as they are used regularly. In addition, they wont damage your hair
like harmful chemicals do..

My Curly Hair Experience at Salon 718

My Curly Hair
Hello world! I need to get this addressed... This situation. And it was matting again. ANDREA: Oh, your hair? It doesn't look like it right now! MAYA: 'Cause I had to brush it out! If I leave it curly-- ANDREA: Oh, then it mats...

I wish mine was long enough that I
can just do that. 'Cause I'm tired of like, the process. I've just been leaving it in a bun like
all the time now. Just like, bun it up.

MAYA: Oh, that's who we're talking to right now. ANDREA: That's me, hello. Yeah, I just like, bun it up all the time. It's drama.

This--okay, this is the mullet. I'm here at salon 718, and the girl hooked me up and my mullet. Me and my curly mullet. See how long it is? In the back...

In the back it's really long-- ANDREA: The back is really long--here. Yo, the back is like, crazy! The back is
really long and then the front is normal. MAYA: I just need her to deal with this. ANDREA: The back? MICHAELA: Well, you definitely have layers in there.

MAYA: In the front. ANDREA: Her--she's... The problem is the back. MAYA: The back is just a hot mess, when it's like, curly.

And I think it's because I cut my own hair.
And I can never get to the back. MICHAELA: You're right about that. ANDREA: So the problem is completely solved.

MICHAELA: I'm gonna clean it up a little bit, try and balance it out
and just loosen it, so the curls are a little bit more carefree. ANDREA: And she says they keep matting. MICHAELA: Okay, we're gonna do a really good conditioning treatment for that. Am I getting you? What's up Michaela? MICHAELA: Alright, who wants to work with me? MAYA: Everyone's like, running away.

ANDREA: Too much hair, don't care! MAYA: Yay! A volunteer! MICHAELA: Merri, she's our treatment specialist. And I'm just gonna blend with you there, so it doesn't feel so disconnected. MaYA: Oh, okay. That's probably what it is-- ANDREA: That's probably the problem.

MAYA: Yeah, it's like... MICHAELA: Yeah, I feel like it's 3 different hair cuts. So we're
kind of just gonna make it... One and a half.

I'm kidding. Just one hair cut. Well, what is happening also, is that you're getting
a little bit of tail back here. So we're gonna try and...

ANDREA: That's your mullet problem. MICHAELA: Get rid of this. Okay, so Merri and I were talking about what we think we're gonna
use on your hair today. You wanna explain it to her? MERRI: We're gonna use the Moroccan Oil repair shampoo,
and I'm gonna use their mask--the hydrating mask.

And I'm gonna apply that, and you're gonna sit
under the dryer for like, 5-10 minutes. MICHAELA: So real intense one--and then nice thing about Moroccan
oil is that it has no sulfates in it. And so it's not drying on the hair. And it has
the aragan oil, which will help really penetrate in.

'Cause on curly hair you just wanna keep it
really nice and moist on the ends. Alright? MAYA: Okay. MICHAELA: Voila! I don't know the last time I went to a salon. I think it's been like, 4 years or something.

ANDREA: Whoa! MAYA: At least. 'Cause I didn't go in Vancouver. There's no salon in Vancouver. And I didn't go in Toronto, and I've been living
here for 2 years.

Okay--so that's at least... ANDREA: 4 years-- MAYA: Five! ANDREA: That's crazy. MAYA: Has it really been that long? And when I do go it's only for like a blowout. Smells good.

What is this stuff? MERRI: Moroccan oil. MAYA: Oh, okay. I only bought that little vial of like, you know that oil? Yeah. I'm like, $15?! For a little thing?! Oh yeah...

This is soft. I'll know by... 3 Days, if it's--it's weird, it just started
matting! It's like it turned into one giant dread. Yeah like, here it's like weird and wiry.

It's not even like... I don't even know what that is, that's not a curl.  So um... I just got back from London, from
a fabulous hair show--forecasting trends, and curly hair was big.

MAYA: Curly hair is big! MICHAELA: Especially in London because there are just so
many mixed children. Or kids, or people. MAYA: Same with Toronto. Okay, everyone is mixed so everyone has curly hair.

I think that's probably why there's this huge curly... Craze.
It's 'cause there's just so many mixed people. On top of the other cultures that already have curly hair.

MICHAELA: I mean, so many cultures are so mixed to begin with. And then you have, you know... So what's your take on people cutting their own hair? MICHAELA: What's my take on cutting your own hair...? Curly hair, you can definitely get away with it. Creative people can get away with it, 'cause it's not just a haircut, it's a whole look.

It might not technically be correct; of course as hairdressers we wanna
go in there and make everything technically correct for you. I think when you get to that point, like you have right now, where you definitely feel like you need someone to look at it, you need to definitely do that. You need to let a professional kind of just balance it out for you. This is the Moroccan mousse...

It's our strongest hold hair product. I just applied it really on the front part, nice and spiraly.
And I'm just gonna twist them up a little bit. Oh, to...

And you're still gonna cut? Yeah, after we dry them. We're gonna dry you and diffuse
you, then I'm gonna cut a little bit more. ANDREA: No more mullet, no more beaver tail. It's perfect! It's like...

Perfect curls. MAYA: The salon goes quiet. MICHAELA: The salon goes quiet as all the
pieces of curls drop to the floor. MAYA: I'm just like, oh my God what are you doing?! The way you're cutting it! I'm just like...

MICHAELA: Don't try this at home, okay? All that's it's doing is releasing it doesn't look so crowded. I'm like... You're cutting IN! MICHAELA: I'm cutting IN! MAYA: My hair! It dropped to the ground! NO! I'm used to like, a lot more product. ANDREA: In your hair? MICHAELA: How does it feel? Does it feel like it's sticking, or...? MAYA: No! It feels like there's...

Not enough in it. I'm
so used to having like... You can FEEL that product. So what is this you're spraying? MICHAELA: This is a different product line.

It's called
surface. And it's a bassu shine spray. ANDREA: It's Canadian! MICHAELA: It is! MAYA: Where can people get it? MICHAELA: Salon 718. What we can do if you want also, if they wanna
order that they can get 10% off on that product.

Okay for the next month, 20% off any service,
or 10% off any product, except for keratin. MAYA: Okay, I have it recorded, so... ANDREA: Like, dye your hair black, Maya or is it-- MAYA: No, this is just--I love it. MICHAELA: Yay, she loves it! MAYA: Yeah, see that back is so much better.

ANDREA: Yeah now you have that beaver tail. MICHAELA: You see how little it was that we cut off? ANDREA: And look, the length's still good. Oh, there we go! MAYA: There we go! There you go! Oh, she went colored and straight, I went curly and black! Watch out now!.

MUCOTA DYNA How to Choose and Use

MUCOTA DYNA How
Hi everyone! We're introducing MUCOTA DYNA today. If we were to look at DYNA's package and naming alone, it's difficult to guess what they are use for. Yea, it's puzzling! Their usages are also a little complex, so we are here to remove the shroud surrounding DYNA! Firstly, DYNA is a straightening treatment. There are four products in DYNA, divided into First Type and Second Type.

First Type plays the role to cut the protein bonds within the hair, while Second Type is responsible to reform those bonds. So when using DYNA, both must be used together. Important they are used together, right? Let's start with First Type. As you can see, there are three types of First Types.

You'll need to pick the one that is suitable for your hair. First, we'll introduce First Type CA. In green package. This is suitable for people who have rebonded their hair before, or already had straightened their hair out For the second one, for anyone with hard-to-control hair, or anyone with frizzy, dry hair, you'd want to use this - CCA.

The last one is CAT. This is suitable if you have curled hair, or are worried about damaged hair from colouring. How should you use the First Type's? Shampoo before starting on this, and dry your hair with a towel. Each use should be around 80g.

If you are using CAT or CCA, apply around the scalp area, towards the roots of your hair. If you are using CA, apply on the straight portions of your hair. For the First Types, leave them on for 10-15 minutes. After that, wash it off with water, dry your hair with a dryer, and straighten out your hair with a hair iron.

After the First Types, you'd want to use AFTER. The Second Type, AFTER. This is formulated with tea leave essence, and is said to have the ability to moisturise and deodourise. And it's easy to use this AFTER.

You apply AFTER for 10-15 minutes, and just wash off with water. And that is how you use DYNA. If you want the treatment last longer, it's suggested that you don't wash your hair for 24 hours after the application. That was the introduction for how to choose and use DYNA products.

Choose the most suitable DYNA for your hair, and attain that natural, straight hair! If you'd like to a reference, there is a detailed article about it in .LIFE. With that, see you see you! Was it weird? / No, it's not. Thought I'd try a different parting phrase..

Long Hair Layers Hair CutNatural HairstylesRound Layers Haircut

Long Hair Layers
Intro Photo okay today we're going to show you how
to do a long layered haircut. And this haircut is really easy
it's simple it's fun because you do it on dry hair so I'm just to make sure the hair is dry and straight we're going to do this haircut dry.
It's really hard to comb the hair straight up where we want to get it.
If it's wet and long, also it's easier to put the texture into the ends, because you can fan the hair out that's why, if you wash it and just dry it then flat iron it. Then you can cut it as soon
as it's dry and straight.
Alright so she has such long hair i'm going to have her stand up.
I'm not going to have her sit down on a chair I'm going to sit down on a chair because it's easier make sure that their feet are the same spot on the floor.
That one knee is not bent you want to make sure that their shoulders are straight looking straight ahead and then comb the hair down grab the middle section.
This is going to be your bottom length.

You need to decide how long you're going
to leave it or how much you need to trim off
i'm going to take about an inch and a half off i'm point cutting because i want her texture to be really soft.  I don't want there to
be any hard lines in these layers so once you get that middle section
that's your guide. And you go from there.
Over so all her hair is coming back here in a straight line point cut line and this.  We'll do some layers around the front a little bit later put them back together and look straight ahead.
There you go.

Ok looks like we got all the split ends off the bottom you want to just make sure that they are even both sides.
Point cutting is really fun. It gives it a really soft look on the end.  If you want you can go through
and cut it in once you get your length established just go through the bottom we're not doing length anymore.
We're just doing texture just texture these little ends go in and cut straight along with the hair and it texturizes those ends always make sure that their cape is over the chair.
Otherwise you have hair falling in between in their back and their clothes get all hairy
alright so we're going to pump her up a little bit here. So this is what we're going to do.

We're going to take a part and we're going to leave an inch to an inch and a half out of the perimeter of the front.
Just take your fingers and start where it's parted. I just go down until i touch the ears
then i move up about an inch and then i go around to the back this whole section of hair
is what we're going to work with next. And you're going to pull all of it up.
It doesn't have to be perfect just make sure that  it's not too low.
You don't want to go below this bump, this roll in the head right here.If you get down to low you're taking too much out of the bottom so for this we want to keep it right around the crown and so you have this shape.

It comes to a point up here by the ears
but you still have an inch down here about an inch and a half all the way around okay so now i'm going to lower the chair as much as I can.
You might want to have them sit on a stool so you can get high enough,
Because you're going to comb all of this hair up.
Straight up from their head all the way up until you've got it pretty good and then just hold it there.
You don't need to have the ends all the way you're going to comb this down back here.
This is where we're going to get our guide.
We're going to take a piece from the back. So we're getting our guide from the back.
Grab a piece right there and you're going to pull it all the way up until you see that.

That's how much we're going to cut off her layers.
Now that seems REALLY scary but I promise you.
It will look great. This is where we're going to cut.
So bring your fingers up to where you're going to cut and then take all this hair and you are point cutting down
DON'T CUT YOUR FINGERS.

In big chunks...
All the way off there.
You can tip it the other way to make it easier So now you have that length established. Check it one more time.
Bring it up bring your guide down here.
Bring it all the way up. See i'm still a little bit long.
So i'm going to take about another inch off of this point cut.  Always point cut when you do this.
And fan the hair out a little bit so there's no solid yucky lines in there so now you have.

Then length so you keep it up here and you fan it out.
The way i do this is comb it straight and then dig my knuckles in and it makes a really pretty fan put the comb right there and your thumb can hold on to it. Then chunk out like you did on the ends fan it really soft and get big chunks to take out in it.
Go through until it's starting to be a little more see-through. Not so dense not like a broom.  More like a spiky fan.
Like in there.

Finish that up.
You can do as much or as little as you want. I think that looks about good.
Then you shake it out. Look for some more thick spots.

Maybe right there's a little thick.  You can see the light is a little bit darker.
Go in there and chunk it out.
Okay then you just let go and you can comb it down get all that dry hair out.
Now there's one more step then we'll be done but you can already see that these layers blend in
really great. There's not any obnoxious lines and the reason why that happens is because the head is round and you're cutting it straight up in a straight line so when it falls it's perfectly blended all the say down so the last thing i'm going to do.
I'm going to start over here by the face and i'm going to put some more layers around her face we left this perimeter out.
Remember?? So i'm going to give her some layers around the perimeter here.

And then I actually have one more step.
I lied. So there's two more steps.
We're going to do the layers around the perimeter. The way i do this.
You decide where you want them... Do you want them to start right below your chin,
or a little bit longer?? Maybe a little bit longer.

Maybe right here? Yes
so we're going to take this section of hair should just be whatever is in front of the ear hold your left hand if you are right handed. So this is my left hand over here that's holding the hair.
And i'm going to bring my fingers. Right about to where we want those layers to start. Right there.

And i'll take my scissors at an angle like this just slowly
it's called like talking this is what you do with your scissors
you go down and slowly layer all the way down and you can do it if you see a few pieces right here. You can go and do a little bit more and that should give you a really nice layer around the face. We're going to do the other side too. And take just that section right in front of the ear now this ones a little bit more tricky.
If you're right handed you need to flip your hand down like this.

And i like to get right in front of them so you flip your wrist upside down.
And talk down this way. So you go right about there. And go all the way down. Then check and make sure your layers are the same length.

If you have a little bit extra on the ends you can just point cut that
there we go so a lot of this is just looking at it and making
sure it looks even doing it a little bit more where you think it needs it. You can talk it just a little bit then just walk the scissors down the strands of
hair that look a little bit too thick and then last step.
After you're happy with the layers in the front.
We're going to make sure that the layers we did on the top match up with these that we did on the bottom.  So i'm going to take sections starting at the right side,
front of the hair and i'm going to pull them straight out from her head.

And just make sure.
I'm checking the haircut now. If you see any little split ends you can
knock them off if you don't see any big points.. It blends pretty well
Like that's pretty good.  Maybe just a teeny bit right there   Just going to take it straight out.
See right here we have a little bit of difference.

This is the longest part. So we can blend it in a little bit with point cut
in the back so you have layers as short and this works on any length of hair.
Because what you're doing is you're taking the guide from however short it is.
If her hair was this short and I pulled it up.
Then the layers would be a lot more dramatic they'd be short but they'd still blend in
so you can have that spiky piecey look I do think it works better on at shoulder length or longer hair there's not much length on the bottom after that.
And that's it.

Keratin Complex Keratin Treatment How To Coppola

Keratin Complex Keratin Treatment How To Coppola
Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy highly recommends having an extensive consultation with the client before starting the service at this time you will discuss your client's hair type their chemical industry their degree of curl and what result they can expect based on their hair type. It is important to explain that this is a smoothing therapy NOT a chemical straightener or relaxer. This service will not break the bonds it will infuse keratin into the cuticle eliminating up to 95 percent of frizz and curl leaving the hair softer smoother and shinier. Keratin Complex is a revitalizing rejuvenating treatment that will replenish lost keratin making the hair more manageable and easier to blow dry.

Evaluating the length, density and texture of your clients hair will allow you to price the service and determine how much time the product will be needed to perform this
service.  The client can expect a natural
reversion process as the treatment will naturally washout out of the hair over a
period of three to five months. Please have the necessary tools ready
prior to starting the treatment.   The tools required are Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy
Natural Keratin Treatment, Keratin Complex Clarifying Shampoo, Cape, Towels, Bowls, Tint Brush, Heat-Resistant Fine-Tooth Tail Comb, Gloves, Clips, Plastic Cap, Blow Dryer,  Vent Brush, Keratin Complex approved
450 degree Flat Iron, Detailing Iron, Keratin Complex Thermal Glove.

Start by shaking the bottle of Keratin
Complex Smoothing Therapy Natural Keratin Treatment. To ensure even distribution shake the bottle well.  Pour two ounces
into the bowl allowing the treatment to aerate while
your client is being shampoo with Keratin Complex Clarifying
Shampoo.  It is important to remember that you can always add more product if
needed however any remaining product after the
process is complete should be discarded.

It is imperative use our pH elevating
clarifying shampoo to properly open the cuticle for optimal results.  Gently shampoo two times for all types of color treated or chemically processed hair. For all other hair types shampoo three times.  It is recommended to leave
fifty percent of the lather behind during the shampooing process.

Do not completely rinse the lather from
the hair between shampoos. Continue by adding more shampoo each
time.  Completely rinse after the final shampoo.  When color has
been applied prior to the Keratin Complex Treatment always remove the
color first with regular shampoo and then proceed
with one like Keratin Complex Clarifying Shampoo.

It is important not to use any
conditioners, glosses or toners at this time as these
will fill the cuticle and will not leave it open to
accept the Keratin Complex Smoothing After shampooing gently towel
dry your clients hair. Blow dry your clients hair on a medium
heat setting using your fingers. The hair is very fragile and must be
handled with care therefore using a brush or comb is
optional. Continue to blow dry the hair until
it's a 100 percent dry.

When the hair is completely dry allow
the hair to cool down. Using your hands go back in and feel the
hair making sure that there is no moisture left behind.  Moisture in the
hair will prevent the keratin from properly penetrating the cuticle. Treatment needs to be applied to
completely dry hair.

Remove your clients damp towel and replace it with a dry one.  Using your
heat resistant tail comb begin sectioning your clients here into four
parts. Put your gloves on at this time.  Starting
at the nape of the neck make a half to one inch section using your heat
resistant tail comb With your tint brush you are now ready
to apply the Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy Natural Keratin Treatment.

Apply
the treatment from root to end.  To ensure the even
distribution, comb the solution through the hair using
your heat resistant fine-tooth comb. You'll notice that with proper
application you will not have excess treatment on
your comb.  If you do over saturate and there is excess treatment on your
comb, redistribute the excess treatment on to the next dry section combining
the dry section with the wet section.

Continue combing the treatment
throughout the hair ensuring even distribution without
oversaturation.  Repeat this procedure throughout the entire head. When applying
the treatment around the hairline make sure to apply away from the face.
When you have achieved complete coverage you will then place a plastic cap offer
your clients hair. At this time your clients will sit with
the plastic cap for 20 minutes.

For extremely curly coarse resistant hair
types allow up to 30 minutes.  No heat is
necessary. After removing the plastic cap begin
combing the hair thoroughly to remove excess treatment from the hair. The excess on the comb should be wiped onto a towel.

Continue combing thoroughly until your
comb is completely clean of excess treatment. As the cuticle has absorbed as much
treatment as possible any excess treatment would leave the
hair feeling heavy. Proper saturation will allow for optimal flat ironing results.  Remove the towel at this time.

Begin blow drying on a medium heat
setting. Using a vent brush or paddle brush
continue to blow dry until their hair is a hundred percent dry. When you feel that the hair is
completely dry allow the hair to cool down. Using your hands go back in and feel the
hair making sure that there is no moisture left behind.

Hair must be a
hundred percent dry before beginning the Flat Iron process. You are now at the most important stage
of the treament. It is extremely important to use the flat iron that will reach a 450 degree temperature. Iron temperatures should be adjusted
based on individual client hair type, as flat irons
are extremely hot and can be damaging.

Please refer to the
main menu for more specific information on iron temperatures. Section the hair into four parts using your
heat resistant tail comb. Starting at the nape of the neck make a 1/8th  of an inch section not unlike a
highlight strip. As shown on the left side you should be
able to see your hand clearly through the section.

The section on the right side is the
incorrect side not allowing your hand to be seen
through the hair. Starting at the nape of the neck hold the hair firmly and tap three
times this as close to the root as possible. Tapping will prevent an impression from
forming at the root. Comb through this section making sure
the ends are smooth and straight.

Always have the comb in front of the
Flat Iron as you continue to iron from root to end.  If
your client's hair is virgin, course, resistant or extremely curly
you will pass over the section with a 430 to 450 degree temperature flat iron 10 to 12 times.  For all  other hair types pass over the section
seven to ten times at a temperature setting a 400 to 430
degree temperature sealing the keratin in into the cuticle.
When dealing with extremely damaged hair less iron passes at a lower temperature
will protect the hair from further damage. 400 To 410 degree temperature is
recommended.

It is important to use your professional
judgment when selecting your iron temperatures.
Refer to the main menu to review iron temperatures. As you continue the ironing process tap tap tap at the root and follow through root to end 7 to 10 passes of the
iron at 400 to 430 degree temperature. This will ensure consistency throughout.
If the ends of the hair are severely damaged focus on root to mid shaft only
ironing the ends every three passes of the iron.  This temperature setting
should be 400 to 410 degree temperature.

Using your flat iron you can add volume by the direction you
iron the hair. It is recommended that you iron straight
out from the root and straight up from the crown.  Don't forget to continue to tap tap tap at the root at all stages of the flat
iron process. It is important to use a detailing iron around the hairline in hard to reach
areas allowing you to get closer to the root for optimal results.

When flat ironing is
complete it is the perfect opportunity to provide
your client with a dusting. As said by Peter Coppola a light dusting is the finishing touch for a beautiful
new beginning. Keratin Complex offers a complete line of aftercare products. It is imperative that your client leaves
the salon with the Keratin Complex Care Shampoo
and Conditioner which is sodium chloride free or the Color Care Shampoo and
Conditioner which is sodium chloride and sulfate free.

All of our products contain keratin that will maximize the longevity of the Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy
Treatment. This will ensure the proper after-care
protocol is being followed. It is your responsibility to review the
following after care tips with your client. Do not shampoo hair for three days (72 hours).

Avoid getting any moisture into the
hair.  If hair gets wet blow dry immediately and go over lightly
with a flat iron on a low heat setting. Wear hair down. Do not use pins, clips, elastic, or sunglasses to the hold hair back during the three day 72-hour period.

These can leave an impression on the hair. When swimming in the ocean or a
chlorinated pool rinse hair with fresh water and apply a leave in conditioner
to protect the hair from absorbing the salt and chlorine. After swimming we suggest that you rinse
your hair thoroughly with fresh water to eliminate any salt or chlorine build up. It is also recommended to invite your
client for a shampoo and blow dry after the 3 day 72 hour period.

This will ensure that your client
followed the proper protocol and give you an opportunity to
experience the fabulous results together..

Japanese Permanent Hair Straightening

Japanese Permanent Hair Straightening
Hey guys! As you can see, we're back at
NALU hair salon again. THE FRIZZ MONSTER IS BACK. So today I'm going to do the Japanese permanent
hair straightening which means your hair will be straight forever,
until it grows out. I can't wait to try it.

Let's go! NALU hair salon~ Hello
Hello! What's your hair like right now? Fluff levels are high again. Yeah, it's pretty fluffy. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu A while ago I did an ultrasonic hair treatment at NALU
that left my hair super silky and straight for about three weeks. I loved it, but the results didn't last too long and so they said if I did the permanent hair
straightening, my hair would basically look like that all the time even just air drying it after a shower.

So I've really been wanting to try that out, so that's what
I did this time. I'm going to start with the treatment. How does permanent straightening work? The shape of your hair shaft is determined by disulphide
bonds. If those bonds are unevenly distributed you'll have non-straight or curly hair.

By applying a chemical treatment
and breaking those bonds we use a straightener to realign the bonds
to the correct position, and then apply another chemical treatment to reseal
the bonds. Thus permanently altering the shape of your hair. Go ahead and touch it. Is it soft? When you do permanent hair straightening with heat your hair becomes kind of hard and feels a little rough.

But since we do hair treatment at the same time, your hair won't feel hard or rough. I LOVE IT. Thank you so much! Not at all, thank you. BEFORE.

AFTER Lookit! Look at this!
This is insane. Why don't you shake your head? Should I do high speed? Yeah yeah
Let's do it. So this is NALU hair salon. It's the same place we went to last time.

I'll put the link down in the description box
if you want to come here yourself. Apparently people are coming here because of
our videos. There's one over there! Hi :D
Hello! Okay, so it's been almost two months since I did the
permanent hair straightening and I just got out of the shower, as you can see. My hair is super wet still.

Even in the time of me just setting up this camera
and doing a little bit of makeup, my bangs have dried a little bit. But anyway, I'm going to do a time lapse for you today and show you what it looks like to have your hair
JUST air dry after doing the permanent hair straightening, which is what I've been doing this entire time
since I got it. I haven't put in any oils, I haven't gone back for any more treatments, I haven't done anything special to it. Just shampoo and conditioner every day.
I've never straightened it.

I just go to sleep with my hair wet and then wake up
with perfect, straight hair every single time. So I'm going to do a time lapse today and show you
guys what it's like. It's gonna take me like three hours. This much hair takes a little while to dry.

And there's only one thing I can think of that would
make me okay sitting in the same exact position for three hours straight. Did I not get this? Oops All right guys, take care of him! Let's get to it! So I'm finally done with the time lapse. To tell you the truth, that's actually the third time lapse
I tried. I tried three different days because turns out it takes a really, really long time for my hair to
actually, completely dry by air.

Usually I just sleep most of it off during the night. So this time I used a fan to help it along the way. It still took a few hours BUT it's finally, actually dry this time. And this is what it looks like! So, just air drying.

Two months after permanent hair straightening. It's super soft and silky feeling. Like I haven't even brushed it. I could brush it but I don't even really need to because it's just so flowy, soft.

It's not knotting, getting knotted by itself at all. So if you ever wondered what the secret is to
super straight, non-frizzy hair, this is it! It's permanent hair straightening. I don't know why people don't talk about it more. I'm sure a lot of people actually do it.

Ever since I started mentioning it I've heard other
people say that they do it. So I'm just thinking back to all the time I spent
making videos with my crazy frizzy hair getting out of control and stuff and why, why did it take me so long to do this? I think it cost about $180 where I did it. I've heard that you may need to start touching up
the roots around 6 months afterward because your hair will grow out a little bit and it'll be more noticeably frizzy on top than it is down
on the bottom. But I'm not there yet.
I'll let you guys know when I get there! So this is basically the best thing that's ever
happened to my hair.

This is like as low maintenance as you can possibly get. So if this is the kind of hair you want to have
then I highly recommend doing this. I'll keep you guys updated when I get to the point where I
need to go back for touch ups and stuff. But yeah.

Thank you guys for watching! Bye!.

Japanese Hair Transformation

Japanese Hair Transformation
My hair, exactly! Today I'm going to change my hairstyle! Which basically as a girl it means, I'm going to change my entire
personality and spiritual being. Right now my hair is bleached
and has extensions in it. Because I thought that... Long blonde hair is the 'thing' I have to do.

Because that is like the ultimate.. It's the pinnacle of attractivity? But then I realized that I am me! And just because some people say that long blonde hair is the ultimate attractive hairstyle, doesn't mean that I feel comfortable with it or that it is the best hairstyle for me. Soo~ I've decided to go back to my roots again, and dye my hair dark brown and straighten it. And with straightening I mean Shukumo Kyoysei.

Which is Japanese for straight permer... Perm? Parm? Parmer?? Parmesan? But before we make a trip to the hair salon, I will have to remove my extensions. Super easy to remove at home with some nail polish (remover) and cotton pads. So we're gonna put some nail polish on that cotton pad, then hold it onto the seal..

Wait a few seconds... We should be able to peal off the seal without problems... *Sounds of pain* Hell no... We go to the hair salon right now! So I arrived a bit too early, which means we'll have time for um...

Afternoon snack! This is a stand, which has squid fried noodles. And not only that but also squid pancakes. I think I'm gonna try a squid pancake. *Nom* Its a really really squishy pancake.

Its almost like the pancake itself contains the hidden squishyness of a squid. And it tastes so good! Japanese foods can have like the weirdest names ever, but it's literally my most favorite cuisine in the world! Wow~ The weather is so great today ^^ I have made my journey to the hair salon. My glasses have its own little tray. I'm also currently spamming Manaki with attractive pictures of myself~ So the first part of the straightening treatment has been applied and it looks like this.

Yay~ I got black coffee~ This is a fancy cup holder. I imagine this is what hobbits would use. In a... Good sense.

They really like Justin Bieber in this place... What's the next step after straightening? The next step is hair dye. In order: straightening, hair dye and treatment. Look~ My hair is so straight now! I can like, never ever get it this straight with just the straightening iron.

Even if I get it to my maximum hair straightness, it goes back to it's wavy voluminous form in like... Like half a day! Again, it's super annoying and super time consuming! We're getting ready for coloring~ I feel like already this... Dark paste smeared on my head looks better than the color before. I don't know, but I just prefer darker hair on myself~ They couldn't take off the extensions and I will have to go to the store where I got the extensions to take them off.

Which is horrible... Maybe it's quite obvious...? Alright, It's time to wash off the hair color!~.

Japanese hair salon! (My first ever visit!!)

Japanese hair salon! (My first ever visit!!)
Hey guys! Today I'm here at NALU hair salon in Omotesando, which is right next to Harajuku (in Tokyo). And they're going to do my hair for me! It's really, really long now. You can't really tell but I have some split ends on the end. And it's just all around a little messy.

I've actually never had my hair done at a salon before so I'm super excited to get a professional cut and styling. Let's get started! All right, let's go inside! Here you go, Jun. Are you excited?
Yes. Yoroshiku-onegaishimasu.

You have very long hair.
Yes, I do. First, I'll do counseling. Okay. How much do you want me to cut your hair? About this much? Do you have layers? Actually, it's kind of embarrassing but...

This is my first time coming to a hair salon.  Jun always cuts my hair. Really?
Yes. You cut her hair? I'm not qualified, though.

You're good. Thank you. Wow. Then I'll cut your hair about 10cm.

And I'll do ultrasonic treatment. I'm getting my hair shampooed! :D. I'll tell you HWAT,
it feels really nice. I'm applying a treatment that has big particles first.

Then I'll apply treatments with smaller particles. He's going to apply 4 different types of treatments now. Unlike the first one, this looks very smooth. Yes.

Now, I'm going to use a hair straighter that vibrates to heal the inside of her hair. Vibrating straighter? It's not so common in Japan yet. This treatment method is the most popular in Malaysia and Singapore. I hope she'll enjoy this treatment today.

I didn't understand his Japanese, but he's gonna do something great for you. Kinda hard to explain how it works. Well then. I'm getting my treatment now.

This is the key item of this treatment. It looks hot but this straighter doesn't became hot at all. However, when you apply (treatment) water on it, it vibrates the water and then... Again, it's not hot at all even now.

Instead of vaporizing water, it decomposes water small enough to go inside the hair. So fancy!! This is impressive. It really is. You don't see this often even in Japan.

I can't believe it's not hot. It's bad to heat wet hair so this is ideal. Wow. I can't believe this.

You now look like a high class lady. Her atmosphere changed. I love it. And here's my after!! Look at this! It's so amazing!! My hair's never looked this nice before ever! How is it? It's very pretty.

Feel like watching a commercial. So this place is called NALU. And it's in Omotesando, which is near Harajuku in Tokyo and they work with foreigners. They have staff who speak English If you want someone who's used to working with foreign hair.

Obviously you saw my before. You can see what they're able to do. I'm just going to wander around the rest of the day touching my hair. Going like this.

Okay. Every time I see someone I'm going to be like, "...Yes?" I'm making them laugh. Okay. Well let's go get something to eat.

See you guys later. Bye!.
