Mens HairWhy & How to Use a Blow DryerHair Dryer - Mens Hairstyling Tips

Hey guys real quick before the video starts I just want to say that I filmed this video over the course of two days yesterday [I] had long hair on my sides. [I] filmed a bit then I got a haircut and then today. I filmed all the cutaways [so] that's why I have two different lengths of [hair] in this video also I've got very chapped lips at the moment, so let's go ahead and start the real video. Yeah Hey, what's up guys? My name is [Jill] and today's hairstyle has been Made using completely original as a pre styler and a post Styler before I got the product in I was running out of my little sample jar So I've been practicing cocktailing using original as a pre styler and something else [is] a post dialer but today 100% [original] Hashtag good product Hashtag wink wink Hashtag go get some hashtag.

This is [jo] marketing in case you haven't figured it out anyways on to the actual video for today. Why? How should you use a blow dryer [so] as per usUal when I do videos like this I like to start out with the basics That's what I'm Gonna Do now and will progress a bit more get a bit more detailed as we get later on in the video So let's go ahead and start out with why why I use a blow dryer Do reasons first reason is because a blow dryer allows you to use less product to finish off your style After you finish blow-drying and this is a good thing because since this allows you to use less product You're not going to weigh down your hair by adding too much which could result in hair flop Later on in the day a little bit of product and a blow dryer should result in a hair style lasting a lot longer So the second reason a blow dryer almost always enhances any kind of style that you're trying to go for in terms of [hairstyles] though If you're going for a quiff or a slicked back or even a fringe hairstyle You know facing down using a blow dryer is going to help enhance that style and make it easier to work [with]? When you're applying product, I'll go ahead and show you two examples for this first example I'm styling my hair without a blow dryer My hair is clean and dry and I'm going to be applying original by bloom on straight into it and attempt to get it into the style that I normally have There's two problems with this first since my hair is not already dried into that position I want [its] a lot more effort to make it. Go that way [the] second problem I have to apply more product than usual. Which in turn makes it look less natural Which brings me to my second example now? I'll be using a blow dryer going for the exact same look After blow-drying it into the desired direction, not only is it much easier to apply [products] But I'm also able to use less and get a more natural-looking hairstyle It looks better Basically all in all now I understand that there's exceptions to the rule and not everyone is going to need a blow dryer So if you're one of those people don't get mad at me I know that you exist my point was to basically show you how a blow dryer can enhance your style If you use it correctly [okay], so that brings us to the next section How should we use a blow dryer? This obviously comes down to your hair type and the type of style that you're wanting to go for however There are a few tips that can be applied to everyone using a blow dryer So that's what I'll go through now first up the damp of your hair is before you start The better the style will look once you're finished blow-drying I'm not saying that you need to blow-dry [your] hair while it's soaking wet, but basically the damper It is the more it will listen once it's dry this is simply because the dryer that your hair is the more trying to fall into its natural state in terms of Texture the way it grows those kind of things But if you blow dry it when it's wet you're not giving your hair the opportunity to fall into its natural position Thus Allowing you to blow dry in the direction that you want to you get it basically if you blow dry when it's really wet it Can't really fight against you if that makes sense secondly the more heat that you use when you blow dry Again the more your hair will [to] you basically hot air loosens up your hair follicles and makes it So that they are more prone to listening to what you're trying to tell them to do when you're blow-drying them into a specific direction people often ask me if it's okay to use the hottest setting on your blow dryer and My answer is it depends on how healthy your hair is if you take care of your hair generally and you feel like it's pretty Healthy [I] said go for it use the hottest heat however if your hair is more on the drier side Then I've suggested using the medium heat setting not on full blast [heat] and of course I'll always recommend using a heat protectant before you blow dry to add some extra protection to your hair and in case you forgot Original by Bloomin has heat protectant element built into it as well as pre styling Capability as well as post styling and capability so just as everything finally when your hair is completely dry or at least almost completely dry switch over from the hot setting on your blow dryer to the complete coldest setting and Continue blow-drying your hair in the same direction as you've been doing just as hot air Opens up the hair follicles cold Air Closes them back down and locks them into position by blasting your hairstyle with cold air is going to help make that style last longer as well and also when you're [blow-drying] with cold air you can hold the blow-dryer closer to your hair because that's going to give a Greater Impact, but it's not going to damage your hair at all [alright].

Good job everyone for listening so far I've just got [one] more [thing] to talk about and this is hair styling tools like in addition to a blow dryer I'm going to be showing you how styling tools can make a big difference on your final outcome first I'll be using this paddle brush to go for a side-swept look without too much volume I'm simply blow-drying my hair in the same direction the entire time to get it to set straighter One last coating the product to set it all together and boom Shacka Lacka the first dial is done son I know you like buns, son [chat] [how] [does] the song go [and] for the second style again starting with Damp hair and original as a pre styler? [I'm] going for much more volume I'm using a round brush this time to curl my hair and an upwards position and to build in some crazy height I've gone through this quickly because I'll probably be making a more [in] [depth] hairstyle later on using this technique But as you can tell it's super different to the first style [branded] there might be a bit too much volume going on But the point was to make a difference from the first hairstyle and des what I did one more application of original because well I like showing it off and there you go Alright guys and this concludes this week's video If you've got any more questions Regarding blow-dryer styles in General make sure you check out the bloom on community group on Facebook. That group is fire I'm telling you. I've never seen such an active group in my entire life granted. I haven't really looked around for any other ones because It's such a great group Don't need to look for any others you can find that link in the description along with my Instagram Twitter and Facebook all that good stuff along with community Social media as well, it's all down there [thank] you guys for watching And I'll see everyone next [time].

How to Turn Milk Into Whipped Cream - Gemma's Bold Baking Basics Ep16

How to Turn

Hi Bold Bakers! One of the biggest queries on Bigger Bolder
Baking is whipping cream. In a lot of countries out there, you dont
have cream that whips up well. But the second best thing I can do for you
if you dont have cream that whips up, is to make substitute cream out of milk. I was inspired by another YouTuber, called
the Simple Cooking Channel.

He had done it and had great success, so Im
going to show you how to make it also. In a small bowl, youre gonna add in some
milk. So for this recipe, if youre vegan or dairy-free,
feel free to use any kind of dairy-free milk. Itll actually work really well too.

To the milk, Im going to scatter over some
powdered gelatin. Then just stir it in with a fork. Now you can also use agar agar, which is a
vegetarian version, and that will work really well too. Same amount, same everything, but just make
sure the agar agar is powdered.

So you just want to let this sit on the counter
for around 5-10 minutes. Youll notice it forms a sponge, and then
well come back to it. After 5 minutes or so, your gelatin should
look like this: nice and firm, and spongy. So now our next step is to pop this into the
microwave, or you can do it in a bain-marie, and you just want to gently melt this jelly
until its liquid.

So after just 30 seconds, our gelatin mix
is nice and melted. It is liquid-y, there are no gelatin lumps
or bumps, this is what were looking for. So we are going to set this aside, let it
cool down for a minute, and get started on our next step. Into a large bowl, add in some cold, full-fat
milk.

Now remember you can do this with any dairy-free
milk as well. The gelatin mix has cooled down a little bit
so Im going to pour that in there. Give it a whisk around. So liquid whips up so much better when its
cold, so were going to pop this into the fridge, for five minutes or so, to take the
chill off it, and then we can whip it.

Our cream mix has been in the fridge for five
minutes or so, and you can see its starting to thicken up. So this is the part where we turn it into
whipped cream. Now to give it a little bit more flavor, because
right now, all it tastes like is set milk, were going to add in a little bit of icing
sugar. You can also add in vanilla extract if youd
like, but thats up to you.

Now, using an electric mixeror you can
do it by hand, you just need a lot of elbow greasewe are going to beat it up until
its nice and thick. You can see already that its starting to
thicken up, and the volume is getting bigger. You can see the whipped cream changing, so
keep on whipping until it gets nice and thick. It does take a few minutes.

So this whipped cream recipe is for the people
who cant buy whipping cream in their country. This is a good substitute for that. Also, just a reminder, this can be used as
serving cream, it can be used in mousses, or any of my cheesecakes, but it cant be
used in my ice cream. It has grown around three times the size.

As you can see, it has that lovely texture,
just like whipped cream. This is what were looking for. You can store this whipped cream in your fridge,
and it will happily live there for up to 2 days. Because of the gelatin, if it does set, then
just mix it back up together, and make it light and fluffy.

A lot of you already know that I have lots
more Bold Baking Basics recipes, just like this one that will change the way you bake
in the kitchen, so make sure you check them out!.

Japanese Hair Transformation

Japanese Hair Transformation

My hair, exactly! Today I'm going to change my hairstyle! Which basically as a girl it means, I'm going to change my entire
personality and spiritual being. Right now my hair is bleached
and has extensions in it. Because I thought that... Long blonde hair is the 'thing' I have to do.

Because that is like the ultimate.. It's the pinnacle of attractivity? But then I realized that I am me! And just because some people say that long blonde hair is the ultimate attractive hairstyle, doesn't mean that I feel comfortable with it or that it is the best hairstyle for me. Soo~ I've decided to go back to my roots again, and dye my hair dark brown and straighten it. And with straightening I mean Shukumo Kyoysei.

Which is Japanese for straight permer... Perm? Parm? Parmer?? Parmesan? But before we make a trip to the hair salon, I will have to remove my extensions. Super easy to remove at home with some nail polish (remover) and cotton pads. So we're gonna put some nail polish on that cotton pad, then hold it onto the seal..

Wait a few seconds... We should be able to peal off the seal without problems... *Sounds of pain* Hell no... We go to the hair salon right now! So I arrived a bit too early, which means we'll have time for um...

Afternoon snack! This is a stand, which has squid fried noodles. And not only that but also squid pancakes. I think I'm gonna try a squid pancake. *Nom* Its a really really squishy pancake.

Its almost like the pancake itself contains the hidden squishyness of a squid. And it tastes so good! Japanese foods can have like the weirdest names ever, but it's literally my most favorite cuisine in the world! Wow~ The weather is so great today ^^ I have made my journey to the hair salon. My glasses have its own little tray. I'm also currently spamming Manaki with attractive pictures of myself~ So the first part of the straightening treatment has been applied and it looks like this.

Yay~ I got black coffee~ This is a fancy cup holder. I imagine this is what hobbits would use. In a... Good sense.

They really like Justin Bieber in this place... What's the next step after straightening? The next step is hair dye. In order: straightening, hair dye and treatment. Look~ My hair is so straight now! I can like, never ever get it this straight with just the straightening iron.

Even if I get it to my maximum hair straightness, it goes back to it's wavy voluminous form in like... Like half a day! Again, it's super annoying and super time consuming! We're getting ready for coloring~ I feel like already this... Dark paste smeared on my head looks better than the color before. I don't know, but I just prefer darker hair on myself~ They couldn't take off the extensions and I will have to go to the store where I got the extensions to take them off.

Which is horrible... Maybe it's quite obvious...? Alright, It's time to wash off the hair color!~.

How to Make Cream Cheese - Gemma's Bold Baking Basics Ep11

How to Make

Hi Bold Bakers! I have received hundreds of
messages asking me to show you how to make homemade cream cheese as part of Bold Baking
Basics. And ask, and you shall receive, because Im going to show you how you can easily
make it at home with just two ingredients. Were going to start out in a large heavy-bottom
saucepan. Add in full-fat milk, not low-fat, not skim, not semi-skimmed, or whateverfull-fat
milk.

The fuller the fat, the more curd you will actually get for your cream cheese, so
remember that. Its really important. And were just going to turn it on to a medium-high
heat, and we just want all of this milk to come to a simmer. While its coming to a
simmer, Im just going to stir it every so often.

You dont want to walk away and
scorch the bottom of your milk. Youll want to always be keeping an eye on it. So now
that our mix has come to a simmer, we are going to turn it down to a medium, controlled
heat. You want it to simmer away.

And here I have some lemon juice, 3 tablespoons of
lemon juice. You can also use lime juice, or a white, plain vinegar. That will work
really well. Now what we want to do is take our wooden spoon, and were just going to
stir in one tablespoon at a time.

Were going to stir it around for a minute or so.
Cream cheese is not available in all countries, and I didnt really realize that until I
started doing Bigger Bolder Baking, and the amount of people who asked for recipes for
cream cheese. So Im really happy to be able to bring this. This is the best recipe
that Ive tried. Ive tried many, and this is the best one that I found that worked.
So take a little a look here.

You see its starting to curdle? This is perfect. Were
on the right track, so were going to go in again with another tablespoon of lemon.
There you go. See that? Right there. Thats your cream cheese.

Im going to add in the
last bit of lemon and give it a stir around. Now do you see all of these lumps that have
come to the top? These are our curds, and this is our cream cheese. This is exactly
what we want. Now you can always double, triple, or quadruple this recipe if you want.

If you
want to make a lot of cream cheese, thats totally fine. Its not temperamental. It
will take multiplying no problem. So now, were just going to knock it off the heat,
and were just going to strain this liquid off.

Next youll want to separate the curds
from the whey. So you want to get yourself a nice big bowl, and then were going to
lay over a sieve, and then over that were going to lay over some cheesecloth. Now cheesecloth
can actually be found in a lot of supermarkets, but Im going to put a link on my website
of where you can buy it. Its really important.

You do need cheesecloth, because its really
fine, and it catches all the curds. Take your curds and just pour it into your cheesecloth.
Now this cream cheese is so simple. Were not looking to use active cultures or anything
like that. And also, we are just going to have to let it sit here for 15 minutes.

We
dont have to let it hang out overnight, like a lot of cream cheeses do. Were just
going to let him hang out here, let all the liquid drip away, and were going to come
back in around 15 minutes. So its been a few minutes, and all the liquid has drained
away. Now I just want to make a note.

This liquid doesnt have to be thrown away. It
actually works fantastically for marinades and for brines, because the acid in it from
the milk and the lemon that we added in will actually break down your meat really well.
So you dont have to throw that away if you dont want to. So with our curds here,
we are going to add this into our food processor. Youre probably thinking to yourself that
this doesnt look like cream cheese yet, and youre right, because it doesnt.
Thats why we have to process it and make it nice and creamy.

At this point to our curds,
youll want to add a little bit of salt to flavor it. You can also add different flavors
at this point too. Herbs, whatever you like, you can add in there. And then were just
going to pop on the lid, and then process until its nice and creamy.

So this recipe
yields you 8 ounces, or 1 cup, of cream cheese. So check the recipe that youre making,
how much you need, and then you can multiply my recipe for cream cheese. I can see its
nice and smooth. Now if you see that your cream cheese is a little bit on the thicker
side and you want to loosen it up a little bit, feel free to add in a little bit of the
liquid that we took away from the curds, or even a drop of cream, that would be lovely
too.

Now just check out that homemade cream cheese. It is incredible. This will last in
your fridge for seven days and it will be happy to live there, and you just use it as
you go in any of your Bold Baking Recipes. Just remember that the better quality milk
you use, the better quality cream cheese youll have at the end.

So just like this cream cheese,
I have lots more Bold Baking Basics recipes, like how to make buttermilk, food dye, and
food extract. So make sure you check all of those out..

I Tried Cutting My Hair Off With A Sword Like Mulan

I Tried Cutting

- [Crissy] We've been
preparing for this moment, there's no turning back now. (Dramatic music) - [Crissy] Oh my god, that's my hair. (Mysterious music) - Hey dudes, welcome back to our labeutory. I'm Chrissy.

- And I'm Cissy. - So we were reading some of
the comments on our last video and a lot of you were saying
some pretty interesting stuff. - Like what? - One comment was so bad it
made our legal team cringe. (Dramatic music) Can you cut your hair
like Mulan from Disney with one swift sword wave? - This sounds extremely dangerous.

- So we knew we had to do it. Here's the deal, Mulan is a teen in a time when people have to fight for their country. So she's like oh shit dude, I gotta like pretend to be a guy so my dad doesn't die, because I'm a boss bitch
and I'm also really sweet. There is a pivotal scene, it's like pouring rain.

She hugs a pole, runs fulls speed with drenched hair into a pitch black room
with nothing but a curtain. She's like I'm gonna do it, right here, right now. Not with scissors, fuck scissors. Looks at herself in her sword reflection, she's like shit I would
look good with a bob.

Maybe, she didn't say that. And then be like I'm just
gonna cut it all off. And then she just like puts in a high bun and she's like bye. Wait.

- I could do it. - Dude, with a fucking sword? - But I'd look cute with a bob. - But, you might die without a bob. - Mulan.

- Alright, alright. - Mulan. - Alright, alright. (Fighting music) - Ha.

- Hi. - Hi, how's it going? - Good, who are you? - I am Master Bruce Wen from
the Shaolin Temple in China. - The movie Mulan. Can you tell us a little bit
about the Chinese history? - Mulan took place during the
Northern and Southern Dynasty.

And let me tell you how
the dynasty work, okay? If I happen to be the king
of this dynasty, right? If you wanna be the king, you gotta kill me. - Oh shit, baby. In Mulan she cuts off her hair
with a sword in one swipe. Do you think that's possible? - I think it is possible as
long as she doesn't hold back.

- Oh, so it's up to you. - As long as she has the strength. It's up to her. The person makes the weapon, not the weapon makes the person.

- This is deep, Bruce. - Yes. - I'm feeling inspired and also like I wanna kill someone at the same time. (Beep) What are all the things
that could possibly go wrong cutting your hair with a sword? - There's many possibilities.

If she done anything wrong, she could easily cut her neck, she could maybe accidentally cut her head, or if the sword falls, she could cut somebody else. (Scream) I would say it is 90% to 100% dangerous. At least. So she's putting her life at
risk for cutting her hair.

- Do you think a bob is worth it? - Yeah. (Laughs) - [Bruce] Today, we will be
learning the straight sword, which is one of the four major
weapon of the martial arts. - Cissy, ready to do this? - Let's do this. - It's very important that we don't die 'cause we only live once, right? (Dramatic music) These weapon here is the old Chinese sword that they use in Mulan.

- Cissy, hold it. Which sword should Cissy
use to cut her hair? - According to her height, (Cissy gasps) this is what we call the
double edge sword, okay? See this is pink, it's gonna turn red when there's blood. - Oh. - This one I have since
(speaking foreign language).

Means the dragon within the dragon. So the dragon within you. - Being able to recreate this moment, make Disney proud and make Mulan proud by doing this over again, is just something that dreams are made of. - We will do our best to
bring out a dragon in you.

- Yes, bitch. Love it. (Rock music) Cissy had to learn the basics of martial arts sword fighting. You know, you can't quite
learn like thousands of years worth of history in like a couple hours, but Cissy fucking killed it.

- Two, three, go. (Chop) (chop) (chop) - I was amazed that she was
able to chop the wood in half. - I couldn't help but be inspired. To see her like actually moving around in something that wasn't high heels was a really big deal for me.

- In order to chop my hair with a sword, there are several things that
I'm gonna have to accomplish. - I'd have to think
about holding out my arm, bending it at an angle so that when the sword comes
through it doesn't cut me. And then at the same time, come straight through my
hair at a 45 degree angle. So not 46, not 44, but 45's the magic number for tomorrow.

- [Bruce] That's it. You see how that works? - Tomorrow is going to
be very interesting. Because you only get one shot, baby. - Today is my last day
seeing you as Cissy.

Tomorrow, I'll be seeing
you as the legendary. You know what's the difference between a legend and legendary? - The dary? - Yes. Tomorrow you're gonna
be the legendary Mulan. It is not a matter of how do I think Cissy is gonna do tomorrow, it is a matter of how she's gonna think she's gonna do tomorrow.

- Am I just gonna kill myself? Am I gonna give myself a bad haircut? - She could accomplish the
goal of cutting her hair with a real sword if she
believes that she could do it. A warrior does not stop. Mulan does not stop. Mulan keeps on going.

I hope nobody dies in the
set theater, okay? (Chuckles) - I'm ready. Let's go.
- Yes, let's do this. - (Clap) One. (Clap) two.

(Clap) One. Two. (Clap) there you go. (Clap) Three, four.

(Clap) There you go. (Clap) - Cissy, you spent all
day training with Bruce, but today things are getting serious. - I'm like legitimately nervous. The sword is being sharpened today, it's actually going to be a weapon.

There are people all around the set just hoping I don't
kill myself on accident. - You won't, right? I know this is fucking Disney
and Disney seems chill, but this experiment, not chill at all. We have to take serious
safety precautions. I'm not fucking around, don't try this at home.

Teens, adults, babies, you can't try it either. What we're gonna do today
to make sure no one dies, we're going to have you
wear full body armor, protection around your neck, arm protection, we're not gonna cover the nails though 'cause those are cute. Also your face is out 'cause
you have to cut your hair, so you can't wear a helmet which is a precaution
that we should have taken, but we didn't, sorry. But we do have a paramedic onsite and you cannot get hurt.

We love you, we want you to be here. Ready to cut all this little hair off? - Ready as I'm ever gonna be. - Alright, let's go. - We've been preparing for this moment, it's finally here.

There's no turning back down noq. (Dramatic music) (slice) (gasp) No. That didn't happen. (Gasping) It cut some of it.

It didn't go through all of it. Oh my god, that's my hair. Holy shit. - You have half a bob.

- I have half of one? - You have literally half a bob right now. - I have half a bob. - You have half a bob. - Holy shit, I have a bob right now.

(Laughter) (rock music) (slice) (laughter) (dramatic music) (gasps) She needs to really
grip that hair tighter. - We're gonna take a smaller portion. - This is Cissy's fifth attempt. She's gonna saw the shit out of her hair.

(Sawing) - It's all gone now. (Beep) - Crissy, we kind of did it. (Crissy squeals) Oh my goodness. Okay, what's happening
here is a true diagonal.

Mulan did not look like that. Since this turned out a
little less than ideal, we have David hear to fix it, a professional hairstylist. Hey.
- Hey. - Oh my gosh.

Okay, Anne Hackaway. (Laughter) What happened here? Are you ready to be transformed into the real woman that you need to be? - Just take me with you. (David laughs) - Get the bob of your dreams. I'll just be here.

Cissy. Are you ready for the final reveal? 'Cause I know I am. Cissy, show we your finished hair. (Party music) (Chrissy gasps) You high fashion woman.

Do a spinny, do a spinny. More, more spinnies. What did we learn from this? Animation isn't real. You gotta sit there and saw that shit off.

It also will look diagonal and really bad. Let's go take hot pics off your hair. - Yes.  Who is that girl I see   Staring straight  - (laughs) We ruined it.

Who I am inside  - Nothing's in there. - Just a bunch of bones..
