And it is...This little kit... XD I found this last time I was in Los Angeles. This is 'Okashina Salon'. So this is a little edible candy hair-do making kit.

And it's very similar in concept to a Play-Doh set I remember seeing a long time ago when I was a young lass. So what you're gonna do is you're gonna form some hair. And you're going to style it. And then you can eat it.

Which you can't do with Play-Doh, although you could do it with Play-Doh, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you wanna see some other crazy Japanese candy making kits, I shall direct you to the playlist. All right. Let's go ahead and get started.

(Rustle, rustle) Some candies that are very nicely wrapped. Four of 'em. Plastic shears. This flesh-like...

Thing. (Chuckles) Some decorations to create a face. So the first thing we're going to do is take our little 'flesh thing'. And give it some personality.

So, we'll put on some eyes. Makes it look much more charming. And a mouth. Some rosy cheeks.

We'll give her a little necklace. And she, oddly enough, has a little hand. And a little hair pick. Put it here...

As an accessory. And then there's a couple sparkles. *DING! And....I'll put another one here. And there we have our little face.

I'm gonna open up these candies. And let's see how soft these candies are. These look pretty hard. I have to say I am disappointed in the color of that.

False advertising -- if I do say so myself. This is much, much, much more vivid then what you get. I'm going to microwave these for a few seconds so these become much more malleable. All right.

Be right back. So that was about 15 seconds. It smells like strawberry. I'm gonna work it in my hands.

So now we're gonna take our warm ball of candy; place it inside.... Here; and then we're going to take the other piece -- place it in here. Rrrrgh rah
(Using brute force) AWWEEESSSOMMME! Yes! That is so satisfyyinnng. So this hair is almost the identical color of her skin.

So she's looking a little washed out. Poor thing. Got another ball of candy. Rrrrgh rah

Look at that. That is some wicked hairdo. I don't need to style that at all. That is perfect.

(Sings) 'Looove thaaaat'. So, I suppose for the sake of this tutorial, I have to style her hair, but, I mean, why? That, hair is... ...Amaazzing. I want hair like that.

She looks nothing like her counterparts. Good for her. Now, because this has cooled, it's a lot more rigid than it was when we extruded it. So let's see how well this cuts.

Uh, not so well. So this does not cut like Play-Doh. As you can hear when it hits the counter. ('Hair' falls and taps against the counter, then skitters away.) It's...

It's hard to cut. Yeah. Can't really style the hair at all -- like, if I wanted to give her bangs, or give her a ponytail or something -- I can't. All I can do is kinda twist her topknot...

Which looks kind of great too, but... At any rate.... Unlike most of the experiences I've had with Japanese candy-making kits, This one is pretty disappointing. The shears are not cutting the hair properly.

The color of the hair is all wrong. And it was really difficult to extrude the hair as well. I think if you use regular Play-Doh it would work great. This smells like strawberry Starbursts.

All right, let's give that  a taste. Mmm! Emmh-hmm! Mmm! And that's what it tastes like, too: it tastes a lot like strawberry Starburst. The textures a little bit different. Not as sticky.

But the flavors a little bit different. Not quite as artificial; maybe a little bit more milky. But, in terms of a toy, kind of disappointing. All right.
